Principle Staff

Jim Blair

Owner, Principal, Registered Architect

Jim has 32 years of Alaska statewide experience on both new construction and renovation projects from Barrow to Adak and Fairbanks to Ketchikan, and even Antarctica, GDM being the first of a small, select group of Alaska firms hired by the National Science Foundation for their Arctic expertise. He has spent 44 years gaining this knowledge.

Jim is a Registered Architect in the state of Alaska, with a Bachelor of Architecture from Texas A&M University. He is a member of the International Code Council.

P. Scott Robbins

Registered Architect

With over 30 years of professional experience in Alaska with GDM, Scott is an exceptional Project Architect. His attention to detail, facility functionality and understanding of building codes and construction requirements have proven invaluable on hundreds of projects.

Scott is highly respected by clients and contractors as a skilled and very knowledgeable Project Architect. Scott put himself through college working construction, and that hands-on experience results in a pragmatic approach from concept and design through project completion.

Scott is a Registered Architect in the state of Alaska, with a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Idaho.

Scott enjoys wood working, utilizing his knowledge and skills to keep his house in a near perpetual state of remodeling. He enjoys sailing and fishing, hiking, biking and skiing.

Mark Norquist

CADD Manager

Mark has been with GDM since 1992 and has been the CAD/BIM manager since 1994. He believes in using the most appropriate software available for any particular job, and has a full spectrum of software at his disposal including AutoCAD, AutoCAD Architecture, Revit, Sketchup, Adobe Photoshop and all Microsoft Office applications. He has created and managed literally thousands of drawings in the past 20+ years at GDM. Mark has a degree in electronics technology and prior to his employment at GDM worked as a surveyor, block layer, carpenter and office manager at a sporting goods store.

Mark spends much of his “down time” designing and crafting leaded stained glass windows and panels. A lifelong Alaskan, Mark has a deep love for the outdoors, enjoys long hikes with his wife and dogs and is an avid backcountry ski enthusiast.
